Track 2: Flesh and Bone

Fear is what plagues a man to sin

But love is just, what he needs to live.

And in the eye of fire does malice lie.

But throw a bit of dust and that eye will cry.

Nothing save the outcome is of use.

Says the lonely man who’s searching for the truth.

And ‘neath those tired eyes there is a past.

But what does it mean when tomorrow comes so fast?

I cry oh, your eyes are made of stone.

But no oh, we’re all just flesh and bone.

Wide eyes full of wonder never close.

A young boy loves a world he doesn’t know.

And in those vacant eyes the clouds roll by.

But blue skies turn to fire, before the night.

And he cries oh, my eyes are made of stone.

But no oh, we’re all just flesh and bone.

Young native boy, losing all he knows.

He marvels how the eyes of white man glow.

And looking at the stars a tear does fall.

When father says son you must stand tall.

And he cries oh, their eyes are made of stone.

But no oh, what is this flesh and bone?
